Joslin’s DO IT program provides a combination of individual attention and small-group education with the focus on you—what you need to do to get on and stay on the pathway to health. This four-day program is a chance to tune-up your diabetes management. It is for people 18 and older with either type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes, whether you were diagnosed years ago or just recently.

The program features Joslin’s state-of-the-art medical care and diabetes education, daily physician visits and small group and individual sessions with certified diabetes educators.

The truth is that there is no shortage of information available providing guidance on managing diabetes. While the volume of research-based information is critical to keeping your diabetes under control, Joslin’s DO IT program will leave you with a plan that is unique to your specific needs. At the conclusion of the program, we’ll provide you and your primary care provider with a record of your lab work, medical findings, and changes you’ve made to your diabetes care plan.

The proof is in the results that we have seen from patients that have completed the DO IT program.

  • Their A1C results have improved by an average of almost 1.5 points.
  • Those with the greatest risk of complications—with A1C readings greater than 10—reduced their levels an average of 2.75 points in the first 3-6 months.
  • The number of their emergency room visits and hospitalization was cut in half the first year.
  • The time lost from work or school was reduced by 43 percent the first year.
